Delhi BMW Car Crash: Tuesday brought an unforgettable pain for 22-year-old Navnoor Singh. He had to perform his father Navjot Singh's last rites on the same day as his birthday. In the morning, when he was preparing for his father's last farewell, a parcel reached the home. It had an air fryer and shirt—it was his father's birthday surprise gift. A few hours later, Navnoor was offering fire to the same father's pyre. Navjot Singh was working as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance. He died in a painful road accident on Sunday afternoon. His wife, Sandeep Kaur (50), was also seriously injured in the accident and is currently admitted to Venkateswara Hospital in Dwarka.

A gift in the Morning, a funeral in the afternoon

According to the report, Rishabh, a close friend of Navjot Singh, said that Navnoor called him and told him that his father's last gift reached his house at 6 am. Rishabh became very emotional after hearing this. He said, "Navjot's departure is not only the loss of his family or friends, it is also a big loss for the country. Today is a very sad day - son's birthday and a father's funeral took place on the same day."

Navnoor said that his father recently came to know his interest in cooking, so he bought an air fryer. This gift will always be alive for him in his memories.

Painful story of accident

On Sunday, Navjot Singh and his wife, Sandeep Kaur, went to Bangla Sahib Gurdwara in Central Delhi on a motorcycle. From there, he was returning home after having lunch at Karnataka Bhavan. Around 1:30 pm, a BMW hit his bike strongly on Ring Road near Delhi Cantonment Metro Station. The collision was so severe that Navjot Singh died on the spot. Sandeep Kaur was seriously injured.

Navnoor said that after the accident, the accused woman took his parents to the hospital 19 km away instead of a nearby hospital. He said, "If taken to a nearby hospital, my father's life could have been saved. The doctors said that the mother's femur bone was completely crushed and despite wearing a helmet, there have been deep injuries in their heads."

Mother informed of the truth on Tuesday

After the accident, the family did not tell Sandeep Kaur till Monday that her husband is no longer in this world. She was told the truth only when Navjot's body was brought to the hospital on Tuesday. When the body placed on the stretcher was brought to him, she touched her husband with trembling hands and wept bitterly. A family member said, "We could hide the truth from them as much as possible. But today they had to tell them. She is still in deep shock."

Foreign diplomat arrived at the funeral

Navjot Singh's postmortem was done at Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital. After this, he was cremated at the Beri Wala Bagh crematorium in West Delhi. In the last visit, relatives and family as well as diplomats of Japan, South Korea and China also arrived and paid tribute to them.

Accused Gaganpreet Makkar's arrest

Gaganpreet Makkar, who runs BMW Allegedly, he was arrested on Monday. At the time of the accident, she was in a car with her husband Rashed Makkad and two children. Police said that no liquor marks were found in the blood test sample of Gaganpreet.

After the accident, Current told the police that he called his father-in-law and informed him that Gaganpreet Nulifef was going to the hospital. After this, he took his children out of the taxi with a taxi. The police is now confirming his statement and will investigate whether he has any role.

Serious allegations have been filed against Gaganpreet like culpable homicide, negligent driving, erasing evidence and endangering lives. He is currently in judicial custody. His bail plea will be heard on Wednesday.
